Day 04 - My friends. A post about a few of my good friends.


I've always wanted to have the kind of friends that lasted forever. the ones that you are friends with from the time you are little til you are old and wrinkly. It makes me kind of sad that it seems like so many relationships just come and go or are tainted and ruined in one way or another. I can honestly say that we have very few friends who fall into to this category for me or for us as a couple.
I'm talkin about the kind of friends that remember your birthday without the help of Facebook.. the ones who know how you are doing without having to ask someone else or find out about it online because they talk to you on a regular basis.. the ones who always text you back no matter what they're doing especially since they know how big of a pet peeve that is of mine..  the ones where you never see them and then when you do finally hang out, it's like you were never apart.. the ones you can constructively criticize and have them understand and will return the favor when necessary.. the ones who can finish your sentences and know what you are thinking with just one look.. the ones who gossip with you and NOT about you and take your side when there is battle with someone else.. the ones who hate your enemies with you even though they have no reason to hate them other than the fact that they treated you bad-they are loyal.... the ones who will tell you that you look ugly or when you have food in your teeth..the ones who would visit you in the hospital when something is wrong or drive across the state just to do you a favor.. the ones who don't care how far the drive is.. they will always come see you..etc. etc.
those are just a few of my criteria I guess... maybe I'm just picky or have my bar set too high.. but that's how I feel about it. I know who my really good friends are. Not to say I don't have alot of friends... I have alot of REALLY great friends... but very few get to call themselves our best friends.
 
So first and foremost...

My hot hubby. By far my best friend in the whole world. We think the same.. finish each others sentences.. and agree and almost everything... I guess that's what happens when you spend almost every day for 7 years with the same person... but yet we seem to be complete opposites at the same time :) I love everything about him and I am so glad that my husband is also my best friend. He has my back no matter what, and he dries my tears when a cry. I just love him. Anytime I think about my life without him.. I kind of can't breathe anymore.. so needless to say.. he is necessary for me to keep living. :)   
We'll go next to McCall's side of our friends:

Dirk and Kelsi.
Dirk has been good friends with McCall since they were little. He has been such a good friend and example to McCall and definitely helped shape who he is today. We couldn't be more ecstatic with who he chose to marry as well. Kelsi is the perfect match for him and I am so extremely grateful that she has put McCall and Dirk's friendship as a priority. She sent us the cutest christmas gift, Valentines cards, and just today I got the homemade birthday card for McCall that she and Dirk made for him. Just such thoughtful friends and so fun to be around. So glad that Dirk has stuck by McCall and been his friend through thick and thin. He's definitely been a huge help as a reference for McCall's jobs as well. Just all around great people.

Next we'll go with Becca

Been friends since we were little and definitely will be for a very long time. Been there through thick and thin. Always have fun together.. we don't talk as often or hang out as much but we always pick up where we left off and it's something that I appreciate. She is one of the few that I include in my big life moments.

and last but not least..

Kami. Our friendship has been shorter but I definitely value it the same. We don't have to make the small talk when we talk.. we just cut straight to the point and don't waste any time. So many inside jokes with high school and Massage school... I think she has seen more of me than she would like. She came to the temple when I got married... and I'm sure she won't be too far away when we have our babies. She can't get rid of me no matter how hard she tries :)

Many other people I am very close with that aren't mentioned here. Kyle, Jae, Melissa, Shay, Erin and Davie, Brandon and Lisa, Robbie and Kaylynn, Julee, Jeremy, Tash, Laci.. so many others.. But I don't wanna use up the whole blog for it :) and I feel strongly that a friendship has to stand the test of time and it takes longer than just a year or two to make the kind of friendship I am talking about.. so Don't be offended if you aren't on this blog list. You are still my friend and important just the same. I'm sure McCall would make his list longer too and would definitely include some of the people I listed above and write Novels about how great of friends you are.. especially his references.. he wouldn't use you as one if he didn't feel strongly about your friendship. anyway... enough babbling... you are all amazing!! Love you all!!
