Wow. I just got my braces on a couple hours ago- and I seriously don't remember it sucking this bad the first time I got them on. Maybe thats cuz the first time I got them on- it was done all wrong. Oh well.. I asked for this, I wanted it and I know it will be worth it when they come back off again. The only reason it sucks is because I haven't really been able to eat anything I wanted to. My teeth are just way too sore. So hopefully that will pass soon. Lot of stuff going on for us lately.. Nothing very exciting as usual but still- lots of craziness in our lives.
Most of the craziness has stemmed from McCall's job search. He is applying pretty much everywhere that is hiring right now. So we have been spending hours and hours filling out applications and backround check packets. Some of them have as many as 50 pages and they require multiple copies of the packets.. so needless to say- we are killing trees around here. It's so sucky. I'm really hoping that one of them will pull through and work out for him. He is so excited to start in his career and I just hope it happens for him soon so that he doesn't face too much disappointment. I feel like he should have better chances because he has a degree but that really isn't the case I guess. They are taking post certified applicants first and with the economy the way that it is.. lots of people are applying for law enforcement since a degree isn't a requirement and it's hard to get noticed in a sea of hundreds of faces. We're thinking the bigger counties and cities are going to provide a better chance for him since they hire alot of people all at once instead of just 4 or 5. So we are waiting to start up with the UHP backround check- we think it's just a hiring list though so we don't have our hopes up too high for this. And he will be testing soon with Weber county and SLC. Sandy city told him no though so that's one more to cross off the growing list. This whole process requires alot of patience that I just don't have. Patience is not my strong trait so this has really been a struggle for me and it continues to be one. Hopefully the end of it is near!!
Two more weeks of school- so excited! My Chemistry class has been pretty tough and time consuming but it was definitely a blessing to be off of work for most of it. I think I am doing pretty good but I guess we'll see when the grades get posted. I have to get a C+ or better so I'm not really worried about it. A C+ isn't too hard to get. Microbiology, Math, and a music class are what I have planned for the fall semester. We'll see when it gets closer if I decide to change it at all.
Piano is finally over for the summer but I don't really get a break. My dad has been begging me and my sisters to play "Stars and Stripes Forever" ever since one of my sisters played it with some other students a couple years ago. It is a two piano-eight hands piece so it will be me and my 2 sisters and our piano teacher playing it together. My dad loves it so much I think it is definitely up there on his Bucket List. So we decided to finally play it for him at the next recital. The only catch is that my mom decided that it would be a good idea for us to play it at my Grandma's 90th birthday party as well in September. So we have about 3 months to learn it and get it down really good. Hopefully it works out ok. Seriously- it is the coolest sounding song.. it gives you goosebumps when you hear it played live. if you don't believe me- look it up on youtube (link at the bottom). It won't be as cool on youtube as when we play it but it will give you the right idea. Maybe we'll get someone to record it for us so I can share it with all of you :)
Well other than all that rambling- life is good- so excited for my birthday this week- nothing excited planned but I still like to have a day that is all about me :) McCall is a sweetheart and already bought me all my gifts and even gave me my big one early. He seriously is so good to me. He knew I was getting my braces today so last night he cooked me corn on the cob since I wouldn't be able to eat it for a couple years. He just thinks of the little things like that, that make my life with him so enjoyable. He saw me today and the first thing he said was how cute I looked instead of being like most typical guys and teasing me about my new hardware. He has had a hillbilly wife for a few weeks and hasn't even made one joke to me about it. So sweet! I just love that boy so much. How did I get so lucky? :)
Here is the link to youtube for that song. This one is kinda jumbled up in some parts but it was the best one I could find where they don't play it too fast or slow or dance around on the piano benches looking like Juliard idiots. LOL

That video is like the Golden Girls version or something :) I hope we don't look like that when we play it. They were a little off in spots, not too bad though.
